In 2007, European aerospace prime contractors realized that our supply chain was not able to meet the new challenges of industrial excellence.
They decided to create the SPACE™ association in June 2007 to support the development of this industry.
The Mission is to conduct robust industrial improvement projects with suppliers at their sites by mutually sharing resources from the main Aerospace prime contractors (EADS, ATR, Eurocopter, Airbus, SAFRAN, Thales, Zodiac Aerospace, Dassault, Liebherr Aerospace, Eaton, Hamilton & Ratier Figeac, MOOG, Daher, and Goodrich).
Since that time, SPACE™ has supported more than 35 industrial improvement projects and has trained more than 200 experts on how to master the tools for effective industrial process control.
The initial results met our expectations; nevertheless it is necessary to continue with the process despite the current difficult situation.
Therefore, to prepare ourselves for the next ramp-up period which will undoubtedly return, it is imperative to perpetuate and develop sustainability for our manufacturing capabilities.
The goals of SPACE™, a professional non-profit association, are to pool its available expertise to serve the European aerospace community and tosupport all local and global projects towards industrial excellence initiatives.
